Wow! Is it really July 4th already?
I feel like yesterday I was living in January and still running off my "baby high" from the birth of our son the month before. Then I blink and look what happens... We've made it to July, Independence day and in three more days our "baby boy" will be 7 months old. This is weird. Seven months. Really? Where has the time gone? He is growing by leaps and bounds and is becoming a little boy much more quickly than I would care to admit, ha ha. He's surpassing milestones faster than I can describe his latest "trick". He'd rather learn to walk than crawl. He has almost figured out the army crawl though and he's recently learned that he can roll in one direction (not just in circles) and thus use this mode of transportation to chase his parents around. He loves to talk. Boy does he love to talk (more than his Momma). The last few weeks I've been teaching him some signs along with certain words and I'm hoping in a few more months we can get some real communication going with either the words or signs, or both. The thing I love most right now about my son (OK, not the thing but one of the things) is that when he's asleep he's really asleep and nothing can wake him up. But when he's awake, he's really awake and he must have constant and continuous stimulation. He's very good at concentrating on one particular activity for a long amount of time, but I think Mommy has a shorter attention span that he, because I'm constantly changing up the activity every few minutes. I think it's more to break repetition so I don't go crazy, than it is for him. No matter what, he enjoys his Momma and thinks everything I do is hilarious. My recent goal has been to keep my son entertained w/out burning myself out. His laugh is my heart's joy and it is infectious. I will do almost anything to keep my son laughing as long as he is awake. He has an amazing laugh and the cutest toothless grin to go along with it. :-D
I sit here. Straining to listen to the baby monitor, enjoying a slice of TJ's apple pie and a cup of hot raspberry tea. All the while hearing nothing but fireworks that are tempting me with their lovely booming noises and the rustling of my son (whom I just got back to sleep after the local fireworks woke him up). Dear God, please let him stay asleep. We've had the last several days of not sleeping, or not sleeping well I should admit. I blame it on a series of growth spurts combined with teething. That said, I should probably be in bed myself now and soaking in as much early peaceful sleep as I can before the little man wakes up to nurse, again.
In honor of Independence day, we want to thank all of our Vets and active men and women in the Armed Forces for doing all they can to protect our freedoms here back home in the Grand Ole' U S of A. Thank you to all my family and friends who have served or are serving. Our family salutes you and lifts you up in prayer each and every day, thanking our Heavenly Father for you and your courage to stand for what is right and honorable. We love you and pray for your safety where ever your feet may tread.
Blessings to All and to All a Good Night.

Three Years & Counting...
June 28, 2008
This is the day I married my best friend and said "I Do" to becoming one with another. It has been the three most fabulous, wonderful, adventurous years of my life and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
For our 3yr anniversary trip we took the little man and traveled South to San Diego to the Air & Space Museum for a day of fun. The trip and Museum were both amazing and wonderful. All except for the tired and fussy parts (and that was just Mom, lol! JK!). The only really crazy part was the homeless guy at the Museum who I swear was stalking our family and kept asking if I wanted to be launched into space and if we were excited about the July 4th launch. Thank God security finally found him and walked him out of the Museum. I am very grateful to those concerned passer-by's of other Museum goers who may have seen him talking/ stalking us and reported him. I would have done it myself had he approached us a 5th time (or had he popped up while we took a nursing break). That would have been too creepy for me. But all's well that ends well.
Now if you'll pardon me, but the little man actually went down for bedtime at 8:00pm, so now that "tea & desserts" are over with, I'm going to enjoy the rest of my anniversary with my hubby "honeymoon style". Don't wait up! ;-P
