What Are We Doing???

Hi Everyone!

[E]: I guess we've built up enough suspense since our trip home. Let me tell you how much fun we had :). We went home to FL for Christmas and New Years and it was this much fun!

This is Erica's family

This is Joe's family
I (Erica) do not have a "full" family pic of my Dad's half of the family, otherwise I would have posted that one too. Well, there is always a next time ;)! I'm sure you would like to see the rest of the pictures from our trip, no?

Follow the links for a pictorial journey of our trip!

Christmas 2009

New Years Eve (09/10)

We also have video of our trip excursions as well. Check back later to see a link to videos... I hope. So who did we get to see on our trip home? Family, Family, Family, more Family, Friends who dropped by parents' homes, oh yes, and Family :D! We even took a small road trip South to see more Family! Actually we went to see my Grandfather and cheer him up a bit. I think it worked, hehe. We also had a chance to visit with Joe's Aunt and Uncle in the area. THANK YOU for the awesome food!!! I think I have some new favorites now that Joe and I will have to learn to make.

Let's see what else? Well, there was a lot more that we did on our vacation. But... I'm going to leave you all with a cliff hanger. Why? Because it would be nice for Joe to finish up this post with his version of our trip too ;).

P.S. I am participating in Birth Choice's Walk for Life 2010. Please consider helping me reach my goal :). Thank you!

1.5 yrs ALREADY?!?

[Erica]: Is it just me, do does anyone else find it weird that we have been happily married for almost a full 1 1/2 years now?

Times flies... always

I was sitting on our couch yesterday reminiscing about the first time Joe and I met. It felt like yesterday to me. Mostly because my husband who has the memory of an elephant described right down to the color detail of what I wore on that day almost 8 years ago when we met! My husband is a freaky genius (to quote Malcom in the Middle). He may not remember what he had for breakfast this morning, but he remembered the perfume I wore, and shorts I owned/wore 8 years ago, lol. So back to reminiscing...

A lot has happened since we got married in 2008. Most of which you already know, so I won't bore you with those details again. But thinking back, WOW!

I adore my husband, so much. I thank God every day that He created a man with enough patience to put up with my OCD acting self (though the OCD part has never been fully confirmed). Sure, we're like every other couple with our quarrels, ups and downs, etc... But at the end of the day, I am still amazed at God's goodness, grace, and mercy that he is constantly pouring into our lives.

I too love the fact that ever since we started courting we have always prayed together before going to bed. OK I admit it, sometimes I'll be on the verge of sleep and start praying in tongues, but that is Joe's cue. I love that he can be sound asleep and the moment I start praying in tongues, I hear him thanking God for our day and keeping me safe while he was at work, etc. It is the most peaceful and relaxing sound in the world to me, to hear my husband pray :).

I have also learned in the last 1.5 yrs of marriage that men and women are VERY different! Haha, well I knew that before, but it really hits home once you are living together with no parents around and you have to make up your own rules. Our rules... there are no rules... yet ;). Wait I lied. We have rules, I just can't remember what they are off the top of my head, sorry. Moving on...

When I say men and women are different I mean "I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE TO LIVE WITH A BOY NOW!"

I know everyone has their own "quirks" and I'm SURE I have some that really annoy Joe, really. What I have come to learn is that for a solid marriage to work, you either can be really upfront with one another and make the person face it, yeah it's REALLY annoying... OR you can choose to ignore it and learn to live with it. I tend to pick the wrong battles sometimes when it comes to things like this. We live and learn though, right?

I realize to some this post is hilarious because you have already lived through this and come out glorious on the other side. To the rest of you, like us, I hope you now know that you are NOT alone and can find some reassurance in this.

I hoped you have enjoyed our latest update. Sorry it took me forever. I have been working on a new project on the side: Dreaming Up Reality

Enjoy ;)
